High‑Quality AirPods Max Available at Wholesale Liquidation Prices
If you’re looking to offer AirPods Max, Apple’s premium over‑ear headphones at affordable price. So what's in an AirPods Max lot? Over-ear Apple headphones, mixed colours, with or without the Smart Case.
Nearly all customer returns. At $549 retail, people buy them, decide they're too heavy or too expensive, and send them back inside the window.
Why the Max is a different product from AirPods
Values are far higher. A working pair fetches $250-350 used, so unit economics are completely different from earbuds.
Volumes are much lower too. These sell in far smaller numbers, so lots are tens rather than hundreds.
And the failure modes are different, which is the part that matters.
The condensation problem
This is the known issue with AirPods Max and it's specific to them.
Moisture builds inside the ear cups during use, and it can damage the internal drivers. Apple acknowledged it and there's a service programme for affected units.
Symptoms are audio cutting out, one side failing, or connectivity dropping.
Test both cups independently, at length. A quick listen won't reveal it.
What else to check
Ear cushions first. They're magnetic, they detach, and they go missing constantly. Replacements cost around $69 a pair, which is real money against your margin.
Check the headband mesh for stretching and staining, since it's the most visible wear point.
Test the Digital Crown and noise control button, both of which fail.
Check the Smart Case is present. It's not optional here, because without it the Max never fully powers down and the battery drains.
Battery health, since these are sealed and non-replaceable.
Two more things
Check for iCloud pairing to a previous owner, same as any Apple device.
Watch for counterfeits. Fake AirPods Max exist and the weight is usually the tell, since the real ones are noticeably heavy.
Verify serials against Apple's coverage checker.
Where you buy it
You've seen the threads. Someone buys AirPods Max and every pair has audio dropout.
Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get the condition breakdown, colour split, and whether serials have been checked. Freight handled properly. Someone real on the phone.
