Assorted Vintage Costume Jewelry Lot | Wholesale Liquidation Jewelry Inventory

Our Assorted Vintage Costume Jewelry Lot delivers a diverse mix of jewelry pieces sourced from liquidation inventory. So what's in a vintage jewellery lot? Brooches, clip earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and parures. Mostly mid-century through to the 1980s.

Trifari, Monet, Sarah Coventry, Napier, Coro, plus a lot of unsigned pieces.

Sourcing works differently from liquidation. This comes through estate buys, house clearances, and auction lots, not retailer returns.

Signed pieces are where the money is

The maker's mark decides almost everything about value.

Trifari, Eisenberg, Schiaparelli, Weiss, and Miriam Haskell all command real prices. Unsigned pieces of identical quality sell for a fraction.

So checking the backs is the whole job. Marks appear on clasps, pin backs, and the reverse of settings.

Learn the marks before you buy a lot, or you'll sell something valuable for a pound.

What separates a good lot from a bad one

Ask how it was sourced. Estate lots differ enormously from picked-over dealer remnants.

Ask whether it's been searched. If a dealer has already pulled the signed pieces, you're buying what's left.

Get a rough signed-to-unsigned ratio if you can.

What to check

Stone loss first. Missing rhinestones are the most common defect and they're hard to match.

Check clasps and pin backs work, since broken fittings kill wearable value.

Look at plating condition. Wear through to base metal shows badly, especially on gold tone.

Check for verdigris, the green corrosion that appears on old costume pieces. It spreads and it's difficult to remove.

Look for glue residue around stones, which signals amateur repair.

Who buys these

Vintage dealers and market traders. Etsy and eBay sellers, since vintage jewellery photographs well and posts cheaply.

Costumers and stylists too, for period productions.

Craft buyers pick up damaged pieces for reworking.

Practical stuff

Store somewhere dry, since damp accelerates verdigris.

Sort as you go, or you'll lose small pieces in the pile.

Where you buy it

You've seen the threads. Someone buys a "vintage lot" and it's modern craft beads and broken chain.

Buying through a proper supplier takes most of that out. You get the sourcing story, the rough era, and an honest condition picture. Shipping handled properly. Someone real on the phone.
