So what's on a toiletries pallet? Shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, razors, soap, hand wash, plus gift sets. Mix of high street brands and own-label.

Most is overstock and shelf pulls. A scent gets discontinued, packaging changes, or the Christmas gift sets didn't clear in January. Product's fine, the box just looks dated.

Why these sell

Everyone buys toiletries, constantly, forever. Doesn't matter what else is happening, people still need shower gel.

Margins are workable. A gift set retailing at fifteen might cost you a pound at pallet scale. Even at four or five, the numbers stack.

Corner shops shift this stuff well. So do market traders, discount shops, and pound shops. Gift sets especially fly from October onwards.

It stores nicely too. No rush to sell, nothing goes off in a hurry, and it stacks neatly.

What to actually check

Expiry and PAO dates. Most toiletries have a little pot symbol showing months after opening. Check batch dates before buying anything.

Leaks are the practical headache. Bottles shift about in transit, and one burst cap ruins the boxes around it. Expect a small loss and price it in.

Check seals on everything. Anything opened or with a broken seal shouldn't be resold, no exceptions.

Aerosols need thought too. Deodorants and sprays have shipping restrictions, and some couriers won't take them at all. Ask before you commit.

Labelling matters if you're selling in the UK or EU. Cosmetics need ingredient lists and proper compliance, and imported stock sometimes turns up without it. That becomes your problem once you're the seller.

And watch for fakes with the bigger fragrance brands, which do get counterfeited.

Where you buy it

You've seen the threads. Someone pays for a toiletries pallet and half of it's leaked across the other half.

Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get told what's in the load, what condition, and where it came from. Freight handled by people who ship this stuff daily. Someone real on the phone.
