So what makes a load "premium"? Higher retail value per unit, mainly. Better condition grading too, depending how it's been sorted.
Standard general merchandise is whatever came off the shelf. A graded load has had the obvious rubbish pulled out first, which is why it costs more.
Contents are mixed retail stock. Homeware, small electricals, decor, kitchen goods, seasonal items, personal care.
What you should actually pin down
Ask what "premium" means for that specific load. There's no industry standard, so it means different things to different sellers.
Usually it's one of two things. Either higher average retail price per item, or the load's been sorted and damaged goods removed.
Get that in writing before you commit. It's the difference between paying extra for something real and paying extra for a word.
Who buys at this level
Established resellers with warehouse space and staff. Discount retailers, wholesalers supplying smaller sellers, and operations running several sales channels.
A truckload runs roughly 20 to 26 pallets. Full trailer, so you need a dock or forklift.
Costs sit in the thousands. This isn't a test purchase.
The maths that matters
Cost per unit, always. Ten thousand across four thousand items is two-fifty a unit, and that's the number that decides it.
Graded loads should have a lower failure rate, which is what you're paying for. If the failure rate matches a standard load, you've overpaid.
Sorting still takes days at this volume. Budget the hours honestly.

Category split, so you know what you're getting into.
Freight terms and delivery access at your end.
Where you buy it
You've seen the threads. Someone pays extra for a "premium" load and it's identical to a standard one.
Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get told what grading was applied, what's in the load, and where it came from. Freight booked properly. Someone real answering.
