So what's on a toilet paper pallet? Multipacks, mostly. Branded and own-label, various ply counts, plus kitchen roll and sometimes tissues mixed in.

Most is retailer overstock. Packaging changes, promo stock left over, or a shop over-ordered and needs the warehouse space back.

Why this sells

Everyone buys it, forever, no exceptions. About as reliable as demand gets, and nobody thinks twice about the purchase.

Volume is the whole appeal. A pallet holds a lot of packs, and per-unit cost drops right down at that scale.

Corner shops move it constantly. So do market traders, discount shops, and anyone supplying offices, cafés, or holiday lets.

Nothing goes off either. No expiry pressure, no rush, which makes it one of the calmer categories to hold.

The practical bit that catches people out

Space is the whole issue here. Toilet roll is bulky and almost weightless, so a pallet takes up an enormous footprint.

Sort your storage before ordering, seriously. People underestimate this more than any other product.

You also can't stack it high without crushing the packs underneath.

What to check

Outer wrap damage first. Once the plastic splits, the rolls get dirty and nobody wants them.

Check for damp. Paper absorbs moisture fast, and damp rolls are a total write-off.

Look at the pack sizes too. Some multipacks are awkward for shelf space in small shops, so know what you're getting.

Ply and sheet counts vary loads between brands. Worth knowing so you price sensibly against what's in the supermarket.

And check for grey imports, since foreign stock sometimes has labelling that doesn't suit UK retail.

Where you buy it

You've seen the threads. Someone pays for a paper pallet and it arrives with half the outers split open.

Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get told what's in the load, what condition, and where it came from. Freight handled by people who move bulky pallets daily. Someone real on the phone.
