So what's on a YETI pallet? Ramblers mostly, the 20oz and 30oz sizes, plus lowballs, bottles, mugs, and spare lids. Range of colours, mix of sealed and returned.

Most is retailer overstock and returns. A colour gets retired once the next seasonal drop lands, or someone bought one and sent it back a week later.

Why these move

YETI holds its price better than nearly any other drinkware. People know the brand, and they know it isn't cheap in shops.

Colours drive a lot of it. Discontinued and limited shades fetch well over retail, while a standard black or white sits nearer normal money. Knowing which is which is most of the skill here.

Market traders do well with them. So do outdoor shops, gift shops, and loads of people selling on Marketplace. They photograph nicely, which helps.

What to actually check

Dents are the big one. These are bought partly for looks, and a knock ruins resale value even if it works fine.

Check the powder coat too. Scratches and chips show up badly on the darker colours.

Look at the lids. Missing or cracked lids are common on returns, and a tumbler without one loses most of its value.

Test the seal if you can. The whole point is that they hold temperature, so a failed vacuum makes it a normal cup.

Then fakes, which are a genuine problem here. Counterfeit YETI is widespread, and some of it looks close. Check the base marking, the weight, and the lid fit.

Where the stock came from matters more than any of those checks. Ask, and expect a straight answer.

And watch the colours you're buying. Some shades are still in every shop at full price, so there's no margin in them.

Where you buy it

You've seen the threads. Someone drops good money on a "YETI pallet" and it's dents and counterfeits.

Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get told what colours are in the load, what condition, and where it came from. Freight sorted properly. Someone real on the phone.
