Dell, HP, Lenovo and MacBook Laptop Pallets
So what's on a mixed laptop pallet? Dell Latitude and Inspiron, HP Pavilion and ProBook, Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad, plus MacBook Air and Pro.
Nearly all customer returns and ex-business stock. Someone ordered the wrong spec, or a company refreshed its fleet.
Why mixed brands suit resellers
You're not tied to one buyer type. Business machines go to trade, consumer models go to students and families.
ThinkPads and Latitudes especially hold value. Built for corporate use, so they last and buyers know the names.
MacBooks carry the highest values by far, working or not. Even a dead one has parts worth real money.
Repair shops and refurbishers are the natural buyers here.
MacBooks need checking differently
Activation Lock is the big one. If a MacBook is still tied to someone's Apple ID, it's a paperweight and you cannot unlock it.
There's no workaround. Not for you, not for a repair shop, not for Apple without proof of purchase.
Check every MacBook for this before anything else. It's the single most expensive mistake in this category.
Butterfly keyboards on certain years are worth knowing about too, since they fail and repairs are costly.
Windows machines have their own traps
BIOS passwords and corporate management locks. Ex-business Dell, HP, and Lenovo units sometimes carry these, and they can make a machine unusable.
Check Windows licensing as well, since resold machines need legitimate activation.
What applies to everything
Screens first. A cracked panel usually costs more than the laptop is worth.
Test every unit properly. Boot it, run it warm, check ports, keyboard, trackpad.
Check battery health, since packs degrade in storage.
Wipe every drive properly. Returned laptops hold personal data, and reselling that is a data protection problem.
Chargers go missing constantly, and that hits value hard.
Where you buy it
You've seen the threads. Someone spends heavily and half the MacBooks are locked.
Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get told what models are in the load, what condition, and whether locks have been checked. Freight handled properly. Someone real answering.
That's it from us. We say what we've got, send it, and you decide if the numbers work.
