Most of it's returns and overstock from the big retailers. Somebody bought an air fryer, used it twice, decided they didn't want it. Or a shop over-ordered on a Black Friday deal that didn't shift.

Why this one works

Kitchen stuff sells all year, which is the main draw. People are always moving house, replacing a dead kettle, or kitting out a first flat. No waiting for a season the way you do with toys.

Air fryers especially have been mad for a few years now. So have coffee machines. If a pallet's got a decent number of either, that's usually where your money is.

Market traders do well with these. So do the little electrical shops, plus anyone selling on Marketplace locally. Buyers like being able to see the thing works before handing money over.

What'll catch you out

Test everything, honestly. These are returns, so a chunk of them came back because they stopped working. Plug it in, run it for a minute, then decide what you're doing with it.

Missing parts are the other one. Blender jugs, air fryer baskets, coffee machine filters — they go astray constantly. A blender with no jug is worth almost nothing.

Plugs matter too if you're selling in the UK. Some liquidation stock comes in with European plugs, which is a headache you don't need. Ask first.

And check for PAT testing rules where you are. Selling used electricals comes with a few obligations depending on how you trade. Worth ten minutes reading before you start.

Who you buy from

You've seen the posts. Someone pays for an appliance pallet, opens it, and it's all dead units and empty boxes. Happens plenty in this game.

Going through an actual distributor takes most of that off the table. Somebody tells you what's in the load, what condition it's in, where it came from. Freight gets booked by people who ship pallets daily. And there's a person answering when you call.
