So what's on a haircare pallet? Shampoo, conditioner, masks, styling products, sprays, plus gift sets.
L'Oréal, Garnier, TRESemmé, Pantene, Herbal Essences, John Frieda, plus salon brands like Redken and Matrix.
Most is retailer overstock and shelf pulls. Packaging changes, a range gets discontinued, or a promo leaves stock behind.
Why haircare works
Everyone buys it, constantly. Demand doesn't dip regardless of what else is happening.
Margins hold up. A bottle retailing at £8 might cost you 50p at pallet scale.
Gift sets carry the category from October, since haircare bundles are default presents.
Corner shops shift this well. So do market traders, discount stores, and beauty stalls.
Dates and seals decide everything
Check the PAO symbol, the little open pot showing months after opening.
Check batch dates too. Most haircare lasts a couple of years, but pallets usually move because dates are approaching.
Seals matter just as much. Anything opened or with a broken seal shouldn't be resold, no exceptions.
Short-dated is fine if you price for it. Finding out after delivery is where people lose money.
Leaks are the practical headache
Bottles shift in transit and caps pop. One leaking conditioner ruins the boxes around it.
A properly wrapped pallet mostly avoids this, but expect a small percentage of loss and price it in.
Check for sticky residue on outer cases, which is the tell.
On salon and professional brands
Some brands restrict distribution to licensed salons and authorised retailers.
Olaplex especially. They pursue unauthorised sellers, and marketplaces have restricted listings without authorisation paperwork.
If a load includes professional-only brands, ask about the chain of supply before committing.
What else to check
Labelling compliance, since cosmetics sold in the UK need ingredient lists.
Aerosol restrictions, because some couriers won't carry hairsprays and dry shampoos.
Watch for counterfeits with the pricier brands.
Where you buy it
You've seen the threads. Someone pays for a haircare pallet and half of it's leaked across the rest.
Buying through an actual distributor takes most of that out. You get the dates upfront, what's in the load, and where it came from. Freight handled properly. Someone real on the phone.
