Why people chase these

Sealed Pokémon has been mental for a few years now. Older sets keep climbing, and even recent stuff holds value better than most collectibles. Kids buy it, adults buy it, and plenty of people buy it purely as an investment.

Card shops stock up this way. So do market traders, con sellers, and anyone running a booth at a collectors' fair. Loads of people break boxes on stream and sell singles after.

That's actually where the money often sits. A box costing you forty might pull three hundred in singles if the set's right. Or it might pull thirty. That's the gamble, and everyone in this hobby knows it.

The bit you really need to hear

Fakes are everywhere in this category. Counterfeit Pokémon product is a genuine industry, and some of it is very good now. Weigh sealed boxes, check the wrap, look at print quality on the seals.

Buy from anyone who can't tell you where the stock came from and you're asking for trouble. Chain of supply matters more here than in any other pallet category, full stop.

Storage matters too. Cards hate damp and heat, and warped boxes lose value fast. Keep them somewhere dry and off the floor.

Also check the sets. Some are worth serious money, others are sitting in every shop still. Know what you're buying before you commit.
